Lisa Lee, PhD, Lic. Ac., MBAcC is a fully qualified Five-Element acupuncturist. As a Member of the British Acupuncture Council, all her treatments adhere to the highest standards of safety and competency. She has experience treating men, women and children coming to her clinic with a wide range of issues, such as reproductive health and gynaecological problems, fertility, including IVF support, acute and chronic pain conditions (e.g. sports injuries, back pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia), general stress, anxiety and panic attacks, insomnia, migraines and headaches, tinnitus, vertigo and dizziness, problems with sensory functions, digestive disorders, as well as allergies including hay fever.
Before relocating to Edinburgh, Lisa had been practising acupuncture for a number of years from her clinic on Harley Street in the heart of London's medical district and in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Outside of her private practice, Lisa also worked as part of the specialist acupuncture support team at the Macmillan Horizon Centre in Brighton, a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support, the Sussex Cancer Fund and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which enabled her to see first-hand the benefits acupuncture can bring to those going through and recovering from cancer and cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

Lisa is passionate about helping people with their health and wellbeing both through acupuncture and everyday lifestyle choices. This passion is encapsulated in her new book The Microbiome, Gut Health and Oriental Medicine, which explores the dietary and everyday wellness tools from Eastern and Western Medicine which are at our disposal to maintain a happy, healthy and long life. Lisa has also published a series of articles in the wellness magazine Balance explaining the different ways acupuncture can help. You can find her articles here.
Her approach to treatment places a strong emphasis on understanding the root cause of every patient’s health and wellbeing issues and on establishing their goals. This understanding of individuals’ physical and emotional health is incorporated into every treatment she delivers, to ensure the very best results for each and every person she sees, as these reviews on Doctify show.
Originally from New Zealand and having spent her childhood there, as well as in France and Switzerland, Lisa grew up spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, and she still goes running, skiing and mountain-biking as often as she can.
